Weekending: 4th of July Recap

It's Monday so you know what that means….linking up with the lovely Biana and Meghan!



Whew! To say I'm exhausted would be an understatement!  4 days of being at the lake with Michigan's family is so fun but it's literally non-stop.  In 1 cottage we had myself, Michigan, Michigan's dad and stepmom, his sister Bridgette, her husband, their 4 kids, his other sister Taylor, her boyfriend, and their dog!  Yes that's right, 12 people and 1 dog!  The cottage is actually next door to his uncle's cottage and they had a full house too.

The parent's decided at the last minute to sign up for the 4th of July parade so we rounded up all of the kiddos and had them pass out candy while we road in the company trucks.  I love parades!

Michigan's uncle throws an annual 4th of July party and last year's event was when I met his whole family for the 1st time.  This year I was a little more comfortable and had a great time chatting with the neighbors and watching the fireworks show.  Unfortunately, I was so caught up chatting with everyone that I didn't get 1 single picture #bloggerfail.

It was such a fun weekend and I always love time with Michigan's family.

This week I am spending time getting re-focused on my fitness/health goals.  I have been slacking off majorly on the gym this summer and it is time to get my booty back in shape (literally)!  I sat down today and got a workout plan together for this week:

I also made this BLT Chopped Salad for lunch this week plus Michigan and I will be busting out the grill for some light healthy dinners.  Stay tuned to see if those recipes were Pinterest wins or fails!

I Love The Vegas

Yes, just like the Cohen family, I too "love the Vegas" (see I KNEW Seth Cohen and I were soul mates).

I will be in Las Vegas in exactly 4 days and I am sooooo excited!  The strip, the food, the shows, the lights, the atmosphere!  I love it all!

I mean, c'mon, how does this not excite you?

I got to plan one of the nights we'll be there so I naturally picked Rock of Ages!

I LOOOOOVE 80's music so this is gonna be perfect for me.  

Did you see the movie?  If not, do yourself a favor and watch it. 

I also made reservations at Lavo for dinner that night.  I've heard such great things about their food so I can't wait to try it!

While I am excited about all that Vegas has to offer, I have had so much fun this year deciding on my wardrobe for the trip!  I mean a city that lets you wear sparkles and sequins on a daily basis?!?  Yes please!  I'm sure I'll do a post Vegas post so you can see all of the fashion choices but I will tell yall that my favorite dress came from my favorite online boutique Kiki La'Rue.  If you haven't checked out her stuff, do it immediately!

Hola! (see I did learn a little bit in Cancun last week)

I know I've been MIA but let's face it, I hit vacation mode about 3 weeks before my actual vacation began.  Ooopsies!

First of all, I want to say a BIG thank you to Brookie Snookie (you may remember her from here or here) and her new husband for having their wedding not only on the beach, but in Can-friggin-cun of all places!  This high heels wearing girl needed a barefoot break and I sure did get one.

 Who can beat this view?  The Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort was beautiful and their customer service was beyond ah-mazing!

The wedding was perfect, the reception was a blast, the entire 5 days was just fabulous!

Oh!  I also got to cross something off of my bucket list!

 This girl and I parted with our hard earned cash and got to swim with 

FREAKING DOLPHINS!

Y'all it was unreal!  We went to the beautiful Delphinus Cancun.  Their staff was awesome and so great about easing you into the water and making sure you were completely comfortable with the dolphins before doing anything.  We got to pet them, do a foot push, assist in their tricks, get kissed, and finally dance with them!

This pic was highway robbery but soooo worth the memories!

I am so grateful to have such wonderful girlfriends to travel with.  

Now someone else get engaged so we can plan another getaway!
