Weekending: #Hendricksfurrever

What a weekend!  I swear it's going to take me a whole week to recover but it was so worth it.  Let's get down to it, shall we?

This weekend several of us headed down to Barton Creek, TX (Austin area) for our friend Natalie's wedding.  We stayed at the Omni resort and not only was the resort beautiful but the wedding itself was probably one of the top 3 I've ever been to.

Friday night we gathered for the "I DO BBQ"!  The invitation said western wear and yall know I was happy to bust out my cowboy boots!

The night was filled with amazing BBQ, an awesome slide show and several mexican martinis.

Saturday the girls left for their bridesmaid duties and headed to the pool solo.  I managed to lay out for a whole 2 hours without a magazine or book but then I got so bored!  I did however have an awesome lunch poolside.

That evening it was wedding time.  I never like to take photos during the wedding because I want to be able to enjoy every single moment.  I always turn and watch the groom's face when the bride walks in and I am never disappointed.  Natalie and Andy are very much in love and I am so happy for their new life together.  After the ceremony it was time to party!

The band was amazing and played such great music!  I'm pretty sure everyone but the drummer actually came down into the crowd at some point and danced with all of us.  It was a blast!

Sunday I headed back to D-town, got in a little pool time and got ready for this crazy busy week ahead of me!

Weekending: Stars Game, Girls Night Out, and a Recipe!

Is it just me or was this Monday harder than others to wake up?  I think with last week being so off because of the ice storms in Dallas, my brain and body are confused!

This weekend was a fun one to say the least!  Back in December I gave my Dad tickets to the Stars game for Christmas.  He has seen every other major league sport and really wanted to go to a hockey game.  He flew in Friday night and we had a blast even though the Stars lost in the shootout.

However it would have been more fun if my favorite hockey player had been on the ice!

Saturday after Dad headed back home I got ready and met a few of the girls our for dinner and drinks.  We had a great time despite being served a $14 drink that I didn't order and running into a few incredibly rude Dallas douchebags.  I seriously have to just shake my head at some people!  We may have stayed out a little too late and ordered a little too much at Whataburger.

Someone please explain to me why I have TONS of eyemakeup on in that last pic and you can't even tell!  I need a makeover fairy godmother for sure (how fun would that be?)

Sunday was spent grocery shopping and making this amazing recipe that Biana post about last week.  So delicious and easy to throw together!

This week is going to be insane between working a ton at Pure Barre and trying to take full advantage of my ClassPass.  It's time to get serious about Operation Bikini Body!

What a Weekend!

Good morning and Happy Monday yall!  Can yall believe this is the last week in February?  I for one am not sad to see this month go because January/February have been really trying with work.  I am ready for March for sure!  Linking up today with Biana today to chat about my weekend!

My weekend started on Thursday night when I got to have dinner with the amazing Fiona and Megan of ClassPass!  In December I was given the opportunity to be an ambassador when Class Pass launched in Dallas.  I loved every bit of my experience and was so excited when the girls reached out again about some new opportunities.  More on that later.

The girls and I ate at the amazing Cedar Social and then I took them to one of my favorite dessert places Emporium Pies in Bishop Arts District.  I ordered my favorite, the Smooth Operator which is a chocolate pie with a pretzel crust!  Ummm holy deliciousness!

After a long day of work Friday, I headed out for a few drinks with a couple of my girls.  Our friend Natalie was throwing a surprise party for her fiance and I was so excited because I hadn't seen Natalie since I've been back in Texas.  The party was so fun and I maybe had one too many glasses of champs!

Saturday I got to have lunch with my Aunt and Uncle and then had a much needed nap.  I woke up with the biggest urge to cook something new so I called Christine and made her come have dinner.  I tried The Pioneer Woman's Tomato Cream Sauce and it was delicious!  I will be sharing the recipe later this week.

Sunday was nice and relaxing with a barre class and a movie.  We are under a Winter Weather Advisory and they've even closed public schools today.  So far I haven't seen snow but I'm on the lookout!

A Weekend in Odessa

Well hey yall!  Remember me?  I know its been a hot minute but things have been a little crazy since I got back in Texas.  Between trying to see family and friends and taking several much deserved naps, I've been a little preoccupied.  But I am ready to jump back into it!  Linking up with one of my favorite ladies, Biana.

I'm going to start my weekending post with Thursday night because....well I can.

Thursday night was the annual fund raising event for a non profit my dad is involved with.  Every year several businesses put together teams to see who can grill the best steak.  If you get there early enough you can walk around to the different grills and try things or you can just wait until dinner is served and hope you get a good steak!  I've been one other time and it is always a blast!  Country music, steak and a lot of socializing-what more could you want!

Friday I decided I needed a day of rest and literally stayed in bed most of the day.  I started watching Once Upon a Time since I'm a huge Disney nerd.  Anyone else watch that show?  Friday night a friend of mine cooked dinner for me and I had major kitchen envy the whole time.  I mean he has an outdoor and an indoor kitchen for goodness sakes!  Color me jealous!

Saturday I spent the day with my Dad and we went to see Gone Girl.

Anyone else been to see this yet?  It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.  I started reading the book but just can't get into it for some reason.  I've heard the book's ending is different so now I definitely want to try to read it and see how much the movie changed.

I'm so excited for tomorrow because I'm finally going to go take a barre class!  I've been off for more than a week and it is killing me! Excited to check out the new studio out here.  

Heading back to Dallas Tuesday for another interview and to check out the State Fair.  Fried goodness here I come!

July Goals

OMG yall I totally forgot to post my July Goals!  Here it is July 3 already, can yall believe how fast this summer is flying by?

Let's see how the June Goals went.

June Goals

1. Take 1 new workout class

Ugh...between teaching barre and dealing with life this one has been an epic fail.  Staying up until I meet it.

2. Get back on the juicing bandwagon

Another fail.  I have made 2 green juices in the last 4 weeks.

3. Make 3 new salad recipes

Maybe not all salads but you can see the new healthy recipes I've been cooking here, & here.

4. Blog at least 4 times a week
Accomplished

Soooo......1.5 out of 4?  Hopefully I'll step it up this month.

July Goals
1. Take 1 new workout class
C'mon....it's gotta happen this month right?

2. Work out at least 4 times a week
Teaching barre class does not count as a workout.

3. Call my best man-friend and catch up
I haven't talked to Hewett in FOREVER which is very unlike us.  

4. Figure out how to get a blog button
Guys seriously, every time I make one, my picture looks like that creature from the Goonies.  Someone help me!

Things I'm Obsessed With Lately.....

Obviously my mind is preoccupied with packing, seeing my friends "one last time", and soaking up as much of Dallas as I can before August 24!

I thought I'd share a few of the random things I've been obsessed with lately.

First:

Not only have I gotten to see these girls a lot lately, we got to go to my favorite spot in Dallas!  Katy Trail Ice House is seriously one of the best places to grab a drink (or a grilled cheese) and hang out.  Sunday Funday is always the best but really anytime you wanna go, its fun!

Second:

This pillow from this Etsy shop!  Obvs mine will have Texas and Michigan on it and I chose bright green for our color.  This will look great in the new living room!

Third:

The Waterlogged app.  I attempt drink at least 1 gallon of water a day but I want to make sure I keep myself accountable.  Especially on the weekends when I probably drink beer, vodka,  a little less water than I should.  You simply enter a goal of how many ounces you want to drink that day and then log in each time you drink a glass.  It's kind of interesting to see just how much it takes to drink 1 gallon.  And yes, I do pee every 15 minutes, thank you for asking.

Last:

These girls (minus baby Baylor) are headed to see me this weekend!  I have been friends with these lovelies since 6th grade and I am so thankful that they are coming to visit before I head up north!

I'm also obsessed with my new moving announcements from Tiny Prints but I can't show those on le blog....yet :)

Once Upon a Time....

...a Texas girl traveled to Michigan for her GPhi twin's wedding.

Little did this Texas girl know that among the wedding cake, drinks, laughter, and lots of dancing, there would be a rather handsome boy with whom she would hit it off.

These 2 would keep in touch and soon the boy from Michigan would come to Dallas to experience the State Fair Of Texas and try Fried Frito Pie for the first time.

He had such a great time with the Texas girl that he decided to take her to one of her favorite cities.....Las Vegas!

This led to her traveling to Michigan to celebrate St. Patricks Day.

Not too long after this trip, the Michigan boy and the Texas girl decided that living this far apart was for the stinkin birds!  Michigan went out on a HUGE limb and asked the Texas girl to leave her beautiful home state and warm weather, and live in his beautiful state with not-so-warm weather.

After tons of thinking, praying, and sleepless nights, the girl accepted his invitation!  Whoa!

Sooooo.....there you have it folks!  I, a true Texas girl, cowboy boot wearing, 100 degree weather-country music-patio drinking-TexMex lover, will be moving to Michigan at the end of August.  This is by far the biggest decision I have ever made in my life and while I KNOW it's 110% the right decision it is still VERY bittersweet!  I have developed a huge love affair with this city, its restaurants, culture, nightlife, and people.  I have some amazing friends here and 2 jobs that I love that have both taught me so much!   While my family is not in Dallas, they are mostly in Texas so that will be tough being so far away.

I have always said that I would NEVER move for a boy.  Well if there is one thing I've learned in my 20-something years in life it's truly NEVER say NEVER.  Everyone has to make the right decisions for their life at the right time and I truly believe that this is what is right for Michigan and me.

To all of my wonderful friends here:

You guys are like family to me!  You have seen me through some pretty dark days and helped me celebrate some pretty huge moments!  I love YALL so much!

So stay tuned for my Dallas Bucket List and lots of pictures that will probably include as much queso and guacamole as I can manage before August (ya hear that Michganders-you have 3 months to get a good TexMex place)!

Hola! (see I did learn a little bit in Cancun last week)

I know I've been MIA but let's face it, I hit vacation mode about 3 weeks before my actual vacation began.  Ooopsies!

First of all, I want to say a BIG thank you to Brookie Snookie (you may remember her from here or here) and her new husband for having their wedding not only on the beach, but in Can-friggin-cun of all places!  This high heels wearing girl needed a barefoot break and I sure did get one.

The wedding was perfect, the reception was a blast, the entire 5 days was just fabulous!

Oh!  I also got to cross something off of my bucket list!

 This girl and I parted with our hard earned cash and got to swim with 

FREAKING DOLPHINS!

Y'all it was unreal!  We went to the beautiful Delphinus Cancun.  Their staff was awesome and so great about easing you into the water and making sure you were completely comfortable with the dolphins before doing anything.  We got to pet them, do a foot push, assist in their tricks, get kissed, and finally dance with them!

This pic was highway robbery but soooo worth the memories!

I am so grateful to have such wonderful girlfriends to travel with.  

Now someone else get engaged so we can plan another getaway!
