Home Sweet Home

With my move just 9 days away, one thing I am very excited/nervous about is living in my own apartment.  I have had roommates for as long as I can remember so this will be the first time that I can decorate however I want!  Exciting? Yes. Expensive? Yes.  I have manged to get through life without needing a bunch of furniture (my roommates always had couches, tables, entertainment centers, etc). I have a bed, dresser and bedside table and that is basically it.  I've been stalking Pinterest images of cute apartment decorating ideas and thought I would share them with yall.

The Bedroom
I have a beautiful quilt from Anthro that I bought a couple of years ago.  As much as I love it I just can't make it work with my stuff.  This time around I want to do more neutral colors with my comforter/bedding with pops of color thrown in somehow. My giant dresser and bedside table are teal so I'm playing with a color scheme that's teal, red and gold.  This changes every time I see a new picture of a bedroom.

My dresser is a little darker than this one but look at how pretty those gold accents are!

Living Room
I can't really decide on much until I see the layout of the apartment but I know I want a very light color couch and a ton of colorful throw pillows.  I LOVE bright colors but I always think I am so bad at putting them together.  I tend to think a kindergartener could live in my rooms with the color schemes I put together in my head!

Love those poofs!  This is a little too black and white for me but I really like the arrangement of those picture frames on the floating shelf.

I love that owl looking down on the room.  Plus I think this look isn't as cluttered as some other mantles I've seen floating around Pinterest.

I'm hoping I'll have a new apartment in time to get some cute Fall/Halloween decor up.  Do yall decorate for this season or save it up until Christmas?

How to have a lovely weekend

1. Shop
2. Eat (duh)
3. Spend time with someone you love

I did tons of these things Friday-Sunday.  My mom came up so we could have 1 last Dallas weekend before the move.  In the span of 2 days we went to 2 Targets, 3 Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Ikea, TJ Maxx, Pier One, and 80 bajillion restaurants!  Whew!  Mom was tons of help finding stuff for the new house (Michigan his white-bachelor pad walls are in TROUBLE).  I could have sworn we bought so many pillows, crosses, picture frames, and more knick-knacks but when we got home and laid it out, it looked like we only bought 4 things.  I have to keep reminding myself that it takes time to decorate and that nobody just moves into a house and has it just the way they want it right away.

I also took my mom to get her first blow-out and we went to see a friend of mine in a play.  We had such a great weekend and really got to spend a lot of quality time together.  Reality is starting to set in that I won't be a short plane ride from my family anymore......sad face.

My Wish List

Recently I have had the biggest urge to make purchases.  Now I'm not talking about purchases like dresses and shoes.  I ALWAYS have the urge for these things.  I'm talking stuff for my house, stuff for the summer, and a bunch of other random things.  Unfortunately, I don't have a birthday coming up anytime soon so it looks like I'll be waiting for my fairy godmother to drop these things in my lap.

#1 Imagine Print Set

I found this on Suzanna Anna's Etsy Store last summer and fell in LOOOOOVE!  I move into a new house in August and I think this would be perfect in the hallway.

#2 Tumblers

I found this one here and love the chevron print.  But really these days, any tumbler will make my heart flutter.  BONUS ladies: you tend to drink more liquid when you have a straw.  This is sure to help you reach your daily goal of water intake.

#3 Cup Case

I was first introduced to these handy dandy organizers by one of my favorite blog ladies Pink Lou Lou!  Since then I feel like they've been popping up everywhere!  You can use Cup Case to pack everything from your bras and swimsuit tops to your jewelry and hair accessories.

#4 Dawson's Creek Complete Series DVD

I don't really feel like this need explanation.  Pacey Witter, I am still waiting for you.

#5 A new cooler

I would love if it was one of these precious Marley Lilly coolers!

Soooo I will continue to sit with my fingers crossed until some sweet soul drops these off on my door step.
