My music taste has multiple personalities

Whew!  This week has been a long one.  Maybe I should try to sleep more than 3 hours a night.  What can I say though?  I'm having fun!

Monday night I took Miss Addie to see Eric Hutchinson at House of Blues.  I absolutely LOVE seeing him in concert and he did not dissapoint at all!  His new album is PERFECT for summertime!  Addie and I had a great time and she introduced me to my new favorite drink for the summer

This cucumber vodka is seriously SOOOOO good.  Add a little soda and some lime wedges and VOILA!  The perfect refreshing drink for the hot summer Texas days.

Wednesday I grabbed Katy (aka Future Roomie) and headed to see Drake in concert (I know, I know but he was actually pretty good after I got over the fact that he's really Jimmy Brooks from Degrassi).

This weekend I'm heading back home to Odeezy for 2 very important reasons.

1. To pick up MY NEW RIDE!!!!  Pictures in the next post!

2. To go see the BFF for Crudefest!

What is Crudefest you ask?  Its a 2 day country music festival that takes place in some random field in Odessa.  We are camping at the concert site (not sure about that yet) and gonna enjoy

Let's pretend that I'm good at this blog thing

So dance competitions kinda took over my life last month!  While I couldn't be any prouder of our girls I am SOOOO glad I get a little bit of a social life these days!  Let's get caught up on the month of April.

I had to say goodbye to Bookie :(

She is getting married to the most wonderful guy and decided to go ahead and move to Tulsa so that they wouldn't have to do the long distance thing anymore.  I miss her every single day but I am so happy that she is loving life!  Here are just a few of my favorite memories from this crazy girl:

I also celebrated my 21st birthday part 7 (ya like that) this month!

A few of my fabulous friends took me to Sissy's this great new restaurant in Dallas!  Ohmagahd the food was sooooo good!  Fried chicken, mac & cheese, fried okra, mashed potatoes, hush puppies, we were stuffed!  If you live in the area you must RUN to check this place out.

If you think I look a little overly tan in these pics, well you are right!  I received an AWFUL spray tan the day before my birthday.  I get airbrush tans pretty often and have never had a bad experience like this.  I was mortified!  I mean, this is what my hands looked like

I for sure cried HUGE baby tears and threw a tantrum.  But my lovely friends reminded me that it would make a good story one day and that by the time I was on my 2 adult beverage that I wouldn't care.  They were right.

Oh Heeeeey there!

Has it really been 1 month since I've written a new post?  My my how time has flown!  

Let me catch you up on my life lately!

I have been getting to spend a lot of time with these beautiful people lately

Competition season is in FULL force and I couldn't be any prouder of these girls!  They have placed in the overalls in each competition we've been in and they get better and better each week!

We took them to a dance convention/competition last weekend.  For those of you not dance friendly, a dance convention is when several (usually 6 or 7) professional dance teachers and dancers in the industry come together and teach a workshop for the whole weekend.  Dancers get to take ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, jazz funk, musical theatre, etc from people that are actually out in the entertainment world.  It's a pretty incredible experience for dancers of all ages.

I thought I'd re-live my teenage years and took a jazz funk class.  I'm definitely NOT as young as I used to be and here are a few pictures to prove it (I'm in the mint top-yay spring colors!)

 

Getting to take class from the incredible Kobi Rozenfeld was such great experience but I sure couldn't move very fast for a couple of days!

Wednesday night I was forced to say goodbye to some very old friends

The kids from Tree Hill got me through the past several years.  They introduced me to my style icon, Hello Brooke Davis/Sophia Bush, some of my favorite music (Gavin Degraw, Tyler Hilton, City and Colour), and gave me some of my favorite quotes.

Always 17 in your hometown

Whew!  What a weekend!  I headed home to Odeezy for my friend Krista's baby shower.  Not gonna lie, it was a little hard looking around the shower when I realized that all of my friends are married with kiddos.  I know that I'm not the last single girl in the world but I might be the last single girl from our graduating class ;)  C'mon single girls, you know what I'm talking about right?

But, I am so glad that my friends have found their prince charmings and that now they are popping out munchkins that I get to spoil rotten!  

Krista is probably the cutest little pregnant girl in the world.  Look, she doesn't even look knocked up :)

She's the one in the middle.  The other girl is Katie and her sweet precious baby Baylor.  You're looking at 17 years of friendship right there folks!  These 2 girls mean the world to me and I am so glad I got to be a part of Krista's special day.  Let me tell you, Baby Adalyn got more swag at that shower than could even fit in her room!

After the shower, Krista was sweet enough to have everyone come over for a cookout.  Poor thing was exhausted but she entertained everyone as always.  I got to do some of my most favorite things to do: eat, drink beer, listen to some good ole Texas country, and laugh so hard I cry.  Seriously, Krista and her hubby are 2 of the funniest people I know and I always have such a great time getting to see them.

I got to also spend a lot of time with this precious girl:

Miss Baylor Brown (isn't that the cutest name ever) is Katie's beautiful daughter.  She is seriously the HAPPIEST baby I've ever met!  I stole her for a little while at the shower and we had ourselves a little photo shoot:

I mean, does it get ANY cuter?  

I also got to spend some quality BFF time with my Hali at the nail place for mani/pedis.  Nothing bonds girls quicker than a good manicure.

Its from the Nicki Minaj collection and its called Fly.  PERFECT for Spring.

Now time to crawl in bed (OK maybe I'm already in it) and watch the first episode of this show:

Seriously I am PRAYING that its good because I love me some KChen (she's a Gamma Phi girl, bonus!).
