Viva La Mexico......

Hola! (see I did learn a little bit in Cancun last week)

I know I've been MIA but let's face it, I hit vacation mode about 3 weeks before my actual vacation began.  Ooopsies!

First of all, I want to say a BIG thank you to Brookie Snookie (you may remember her from here or here) and her new husband for having their wedding not only on the beach, but in Can-friggin-cun of all places!  This high heels wearing girl needed a barefoot break and I sure did get one.

The wedding was perfect, the reception was a blast, the entire 5 days was just fabulous!

Oh!  I also got to cross something off of my bucket list!

 This girl and I parted with our hard earned cash and got to swim with 

FREAKING DOLPHINS!

Y'all it was unreal!  We went to the beautiful Delphinus Cancun.  Their staff was awesome and so great about easing you into the water and making sure you were completely comfortable with the dolphins before doing anything.  We got to pet them, do a foot push, assist in their tricks, get kissed, and finally dance with them!

This pic was highway robbery but soooo worth the memories!

I am so grateful to have such wonderful girlfriends to travel with.  

Now someone else get engaged so we can plan another getaway!

2012 Highlights

I saw this idea on  Raven and Kristen's blogs so I thought I'd go ahead and steal it :)

JANUARY

I got to start off 2012 by seeing my roomie from tour!  James is now the Performance Director for Phineas and Ferb Live and their show came to Dallas!  So proud of how far he's come with his career!

FEBRUARY

2 of my girls and I got to see one of my favorite bands Lady Antebellum in concert!  Seriously one of the best concerts I've been to!

MARCH

After 3 years of living in Dallas I FINALLY made it out to the St. Patty's Day Party on Greenville!  In a sea full of people and the color green, I managed not to get lost THANK THE LORD!

APRIL

As much as I love the month of April (it is my birth month after all) it brought a few sad moments this year.

 I had to say goodbye to Brookie Snookie.  She went and got engaged and decided she HAD to live with her fiance in Houston :)  I couldn't be happier for her and in a few weeks we will be laying on the beach in Cancun watching her tie the knot!

 THIS is what happened when I got a spray tan for my birthday!  I have had a TON of them and had NEVER looked like this!  It took some coaxing from my girls but I put a smile on my face and went out anyways :)

MAY

Such a busy but FUN month!  I got to spend time with Baby Baylor and meet Baby Olivia.

I BOUGHT A NEW CAR!!!!!!

I got to see some great Texas Country with this girl

JUNE

Started off the month with our recital

Lucked into a field level suite for The Brothers Of The Sun Tour.  Jake Owen, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Chesney + free food and free drinks....yes please!

I got to head back to Odessa for my 10 year high school reunion.  Such a great weekend catching up with friends!

JULY

Lots of pool time this month!

I also headed to Hobbs, NM for Brookie Snookie's engagement party!

AND I moved!  I absolutely love the new area of Dallas I live in and couldn't ask for a better roomie!

AUGUST

 I headed to Michigan for my Twin's wedding!  I had an absolute BLAST and ended up meeting some really special people :)

SEPTEMBER

This month was filled with brunches, mimosas, and the Cattle Baron's Ball

And I got to meet one of my blogging idol Oh So Cynthia and she is Oh So Fabulous in person!

OCTOBER

I headed to good ol San Antonio for Brookie's Final Fling Before the Ring!  Such a great weekend with the girls!

I also got to go to the State Fair Of Texas twice!  I always go with my GPhi grandlittle Shannon.  We have a tradition of eating til we can't walk anymore and then watching the Dog Show.  This year I got to introduce Michigan to all of the fried goodness!  Did you know in Michigan they don't have Frito Pie?  Crazy!  Well I made sure that we had Fried Frito Pie!

 And of course we celebrated Halloween!  I give you Sophia Grace and Rosie!

NOVEMBER

Took these 2 little dolls to Disney On Ice

Got asked to teach the neighbors how to make Christmas wreaths

DECEMBER

We made the front page of the Dallas Morning News online

Currently I Am......

I saw this cute idea on A BEAUtiful Mess Blog so I thought I'd steal it.....

Reading: The Secret
Loving it so far.  It's been very eyeopening to the way I think and trying to make sure I keep the positive thoughts going!

Thinking about: How you just never really know about some people.  One minute they seem like your biggest fan and one minute they are like biting at your ankles.

Loving: my new jewelry I picked up at market today!  One of the perks of being a buyer is getting jewelry at a wholesale price :)

Looking Forward To: going to Pure Barre again.  The rookie and I did a 2 week special and I.  Am. Obsessed!  Seriously I felt muscles that I didn't even know I had!

Wondering: What the future holds BUT I know that God has some BIG plans for me!

Eating: Nothing now but looking forward to the candy corn waiting at my desk tomorrow

Disliking: The last weekend is over

Happy About: My first attempt at chicken spaghetti......sooooo good!

Excited about: The new arm candy I get to wear tomorrow.....doesn't take much to make this girl smile.

The Power in the Positive...

Several months ago I announced to my friend JH that I was moving out of the house I'd lived in for 3 years in Dallas.  I was moving to a different area of town, with a girl that I had become fast friends with but didn't know super well.  JH's response was something that I had already started to feel but hadn't quite put into words: Your life is going to change.  Good things are going to come to you.

I had always kinda had that hunch.....you know like something big was about to happen in my life....but I never could put my finger on exactly what that "Something" was.  

Not too long after this announcement I found myself buying a new car.  This is the first time since I was 15 that Daddy didn't buy a car for me, I did it myself.

When I finally made the big move, I noticed that things in my life had shifted a little bit.  I had a new group of friends that enjoyed going the same places and the same activities that I did.  I had gotten rid of some awful and negative relationships in my life that were weighing me down.  I was actually starting to feel like "me" again.

Now I'm not saying that my first 3 years in Dallas were bad.  I actually made several great girlfriends (3 of which I will be spending this weekend with for Brookie's bachelorette party!!!!), fell into a great job that showed me what I really want to do with my life, and grew a lot as an adult.  

I am excited about all of this "good" that has been coming to me and I am so thankful for all of the people in my life that contribute to the "good" on a daily basis.

Recently my new roommate suggested that I read The Secret.  If you know anything about me, it's that I love a good book!  While The Secret isn't exactly an easy to read novel, it has opened my eyes to a few things in a big way.  I'm sure you'll hear more about this book later, I'm just on the first few pages.  Here's something I read this morning that really stuck with me (also I'm pretty sure JH tells me this on a regular basis....):

"You are the one who calls the law of attraction into action, and you do it through your thoughts."

Basically, when you think positively about the things you want, need, etc you will attract a positive action.  If you think negatively about these things, you will attract a negative action.  

So here's to some pretty powerful positive thinking for today!
