How is it Monday already? I feel like my weekends are getting shorter and shorter! Linking up with B today.
Would you believe I didn't take 1 single picture this weekend? Not that there was too much going on but still...
Friday night, Michigan and I babysat his nephews and niece so their parents could take an anniversary trip. They are GREAT kids but holy moly after just a couple of hours I was worn out! After playing for a couple of hours then feeding them ice cream, I left just in time for the sugar buzz to really kick in - good luck Uncle Michigan! I had to get up early to teach barre the next morning and they live about 30 minutes from the studio....no way was that drive happening in the morning!
Saturday I was excited to finally take a barre class from my girl Mallory. Her class is always so hard but so fun. We had a great talk in between classes about how I'm progressing as a teacher, tips for things I need to work on and things I'm doing well. I totally respect her opinion and it was nice to hear that she thought I was doing a great job teaching.
Michigan and I drove over to Saugatuck which is a little beach town about an hour away. I wish I could say I took great pictures on the water but I had a big blogger fail. We bar hopped a bit and then walked around the main strip of shops. It was fun but I really want to go early in the day the next time so we can actually hang out on the beach and get in the water.
Sunday was spent doing a few of my favorite things. I spent a little time in the kitchen working on a new salad and dressing recipe (I'll be sharing that later), working on the blog and then going to the movies. Michigan took me to see the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
This may surprise some of you but the original TMNT was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I swear I watched it every weekend and I'd bet good money that the VHS tape is still in my dad's attic somewhere. Bad ass turtles who fought crime, ate pizza and had hilarious one-liners. What's not to love?
I didn't think the new one was as good as the old one BUT I did think it was a good movie. And hello, how hot is Megan Fox?!

I'm kinda dying over her hair....can you say perfection?
That was pretty much it for my weekend. I have to say I am actually really looking forward to this week. I am super motivated for a few things coming up and have gotten focused on some personal goals of mine. Here's to ending summer this year with a bang!

Babysitting is hard work - little kids can wear you out!! While I don't think I will watch the TMNT movie - I do love Megan Fox's hair and look - ALWAYS!! Love that you're having so much fun teaching and taking barre!! xo
ReplyDeleteseriously megan fox cannot be any more gorgeous. i loved the ninja turtles as a kid, but i have no desire to see the movie, is that bad? we saw guardians of the galaxy on the weekend, that was pretty good. yay for taking a barre class and chatting with your friend about your teaching. i really want to take a barre class, but i'm scared! plus its kinda expensive, well, according to my husband ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun weekend. I love a great barre class and wish I had a good studio where I live. I think teaching would be so much fun. I'm impressed! Stopping by from B's linkup :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it was the weekend everyone forgot to take pictures.. myself included, ha! Saugatuck is super cute and I love South Haven... we will probably be spending a lot of time there next summer :)
ReplyDeleteOMG Megan's hair looks amazing! I want it. And babysitting always reminds me how I'm NOT quite ready for kids yet haha! It's so tough! Sounds like a great weekend even if you forgot to take pictures! :)

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I always thought babysitting was harder in a way than actually having kids, because they're not your kids and it's unusual, but then again…kids are hard, too!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it the best when you can finally take someone else's class! I am the same way girl I love hearing feedback when others take mine!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome that you teach barre. There is a studio near my apartment and I am dying to try it out. Your weekend sounds like the perfect one to me. I have not gone to the beach once this summer. Oh how I would love to walk on the sand and bar hop on the boardwalk. And yes, Megan Fox is freaking HOT. Girl crush on another level. I'm seeing it this weekend; can't wait
ReplyDeleteBrian really wants to go see TMNJ so I'm glad to hear that it was good!
ReplyDeleteMy brother was obsessed with the turtles as a kid, so I kind of want to see the movie for nostalgia purposes! Glad you enjoyed it!
