The weather was actually ok with me because I somehow managed to get a sinus infection and spent most of the weekend in bed. I did however, take a couple of hours to take advantage of the amazing sales that were going on. More on that later.
I started my weekend by getting some exciting news about work! I am being moved to a new territory that is much closer to my house. This territory has the majority of the high profile bars/restaurants in the DFW area so it is a lot more pressure BUT I am so excited for the challenge. All of that being said, I felt like I needed some new work clothes that were a little less casual than what I had been wearing these last 6 months. That's where the sales came into play!
Before heading out to the mall I spent a lot of time looking at different "work outfits" on Pinterest. I am a big believer in taking my personal style and making it work appropriate but for that, you have to have some basic pieces. Plus keep in mind that it will soon be 100+ degrees in Dallas and I spend a lot of my time walking from one account to another. No one wants to be a hot sweaty mess when they arrive to a meeting! I knew I would need outfits that were both weather and work appropriate but that could also transition into nighttime since I will have more events to attend. I started with 3 looks that I really liked and then branched out from there. I ended up with 4 blouses, 4 skirts, 2 dresses and 1 pair of wedges. Mixed and matched with things already in my closet, I should be able to make it through the summer!
Keep in mind I'm not a fashion blogger so excuse these awkward pics. Big thanks to Gina for this post because I definitely tried to use these tips & tricks!

While the weather is still rainy, I feel like I need a light jacket. This grey blazer is going to be perfect for any season I think.

This might be my favorite outfit of all 3! My skirt is nowhere near as short as the one in the Pinterest pic btw. I love that I could also wear this to a fancy brunch and add my big floppy hat!
My favorite part about all of these outfits is that they all included at least 2 items already in my closet. I am so excited to mix and match this summer and see what I can come up with!

OMG I can't even deal with how much I LOVE that first look! So perfect for the office, drinks, date night.... pretty much anything! Love it! And that blazer is definitely perfect for any season! Hope the weather gets better for you soon!
