Things I'm Obsessed With Lately.....

Obviously my mind is preoccupied with packing, seeing my friends "one last time", and soaking up as much of Dallas as I can before August 24!

I thought I'd share a few of the random things I've been obsessed with lately.

First:
Not only have I gotten to see these girls a lot lately, we got to go to my favorite spot in Dallas!  Katy Trail Ice House is seriously one of the best places to grab a drink (or a grilled cheese) and hang out.  Sunday Funday is always the best but really anytime you wanna go, its fun!

Second:
This pillow from this Etsy shop!  Obvs mine will have Texas and Michigan on it and I chose bright green for our color.  This will look great in the new living room!

Third:
The Waterlogged app.  I attempt drink at least 1 gallon of water a day but I want to make sure I keep myself accountable.  Especially on the weekends when I probably drink beer, vodka,  a little less water than I should.  You simply enter a goal of how many ounces you want to drink that day and then log in each time you drink a glass.  It's kind of interesting to see just how much it takes to drink 1 gallon.  And yes, I do pee every 15 minutes, thank you for asking.

Last:
These girls (minus baby Baylor) are headed to see me this weekend!  I have been friends with these lovelies since 6th grade and I am so thankful that they are coming to visit before I head up north!

I'm also obsessed with my new moving announcements from Tiny Prints but I can't show those on le blog....yet :)

How to have a lovely weekend

1. Shop
2. Eat (duh)
3. Spend time with someone you love

I did tons of these things Friday-Sunday.  My mom came up so we could have 1 last Dallas weekend before the move.  In the span of 2 days we went to 2 Targets, 3 Home Goods, Hobby Lobby, Ikea, TJ Maxx, Pier One, and 80 bajillion restaurants!  Whew!  Mom was tons of help finding stuff for the new house (Michigan his white-bachelor pad walls are in TROUBLE).  I could have sworn we bought so many pillows, crosses, picture frames, and more knick-knacks but when we got home and laid it out, it looked like we only bought 4 things.  I have to keep reminding myself that it takes time to decorate and that nobody just moves into a house and has it just the way they want it right away.
Love my new throw pillows from Home Goods and Hob-Lob
All courtesy of Hobby Lobby.  I'm a SUCKER for anything monogramed.
Found this (and 8 other) cute head baubles at Charming Charlie.

Between our shopping extravaganzas, we ate.  And ate.  And ate.
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

French Silk Chocolate Pie on a pretzel crust!  Oh. My. Gaaawwwwwdddd!  So good!

Oddfellows-BEST Bloody Mary in Dallas!

Salted Carmel and Dark Chocolate gelato!

I also took my mom to get her first blow-out and we went to see a friend of mine in a play.  We had such a great weekend and really got to spend a lot of quality time together.  Reality is starting to set in that I won't be a short plane ride from my family anymore......sad face.

What did you do?

Because she's a Shih Tzu

Sometimes you just gotta get away with your girlfriends.  That's exactly what a few of us did last weekend.  Ash, Lindsey and I packed up and headed down to Katy, TX to see the one and only Brookie Snookie!

First we had to stop at Buc-ee's for Dr. Pepper Icees!  Priorities people!

I haven't seen Brooke since her  beautiful wedding in Mexico and I couldn't wait to see her new house!
Let me tell you, Brookie did not disappoint on the home decor!  I couldn't stop looking around at all of her gazillion picture frames and crosses and other big bold decorations.  Her decorating philosophy comes from her beautiful Mama Ellison: "It's gotta be BIG, BOLD, and make a STATEMENT!"  Pretty sure I will be using this philosophy a lot in my new home up north.  Michigan and his white bachelor walls are in for a colorful treat :)
We seriously spent all weekend drinking wine, shopping, eating, and laughing!  I also discovered my new guilty pleasure:
This show is a serious train wreck in the BEST way possible.  If you haven't seen it, do yourself a big entertaining favor and watch it.  I think we watched 6 episodes in one sitting.
I mean how do you not just love everything that comes out of these two's mouths?

The weekend was absolutely perfect and I could not love these 3 girls anymore than I already do!  I will miss them so much when I leave!
The yummiest grill!  Tons of spinach dip may have been consumed!

On the wall of a boutique.  Love everything about this!

The drink that gave us all a buzz after 1 sip!
My Michigan girl!

Namaste!  One of the many reasons I love this lady!
Seriously? I love these girls!
And just like Brooke said, "You guys are my easy friends!"

The GEM Cleanse Days 2 & 3 & Final Thoughts

Yes, this post is coming extremely late but sometimes a girl just gets busy :)

Day 2 of the GEM Cleanse was a little rougher than Day 1.  By the time I got around to my 3rd Green Glow juice, my body was NOT accepting anymore green liquid.  The juice doesn't taste bad at all but I think my tastebuds had had enough and I couldn't finish another sip. I left about 1/4 of the juice in the bottle.  The Cashew milk was a nice treat but I could only drink about 1/2.

Day 3 was awful!  I had a headache and was tired all day.  Again, I got to the 3rd Green Glow juice and could only drink 1/2.  My last sip of it literally came back up so that was no bueno.  Again, Cashew milk to the rescue but still could only drink about 1/2.

Everyone told me that the day after your cleanse you wake up with this great energy and clarity.  I wanna know what cleanse they did because let me tell you, I didn't feel any different from before!

I mentally knew that I had done something great for my body but physically I didn't feel any changes.  I felt a tad skinnier but that went away as soon as I had water and some veggies.  I'm still not sure what all of these people are feeling when they said "Oh you'll feel so great after!"  Did your cleanse come with special powers that I didn't get or what?

Now dont get me wrong.  I would do another cleanse if given the chance but I want to use another company and see if I feel differently.  I will say I did not work out during those 3 days so that may have had something to do with the energy (it was all I could do to sit at my desk so there was NO WAY I was getting on a treadmill)!

All in all, I'm glad I did the GEM cleanse.  I've wanted to do one for awhile and now I can mark something off of my 30 before 30 list.
