My Summer Reading List

Summertime always seems like the perfect time to start a new book.  Longer days, lazier plans, and more beach days always make me read a little more than normal.  I love to read and pretty much grew up with a book in my hand. When I'd go to dinner with my mom and her friends, if I had the latest Babysitter's Club book with me I was happy (bonus if I had the Super Specials).  With all the traveling I've done this summer, it's been super easy to fly through my summer reading list and move onto the next book.  I decided to put a collection together of books I've been reading since May. Keep in mind, I normally like quick, lighthearted, easy reads.

Divergent Series by Veronica Roth

I'm going to go ahead and assume that everyone already knows what these books are about.  Seriously though, they sucked me in and I didn't want to put them down!  I dare say I liked them better than the Hunger Games books. The 1st movie was really good too and is already set to record on my DVR when it comes to On Demand.

Boonsboro Inn Trilogy by Nora Roberts

I picked up the first book in this series The Next Always in the airport when I needed reading material. I had 2 very long flights and I finished this book by the time I landed. I quickly picked up the next 2 books, The Last Boyfriend  and The Perfect Hope the very next weekend.
The books center around the BoonsBoro Inn and the Montgomery brothers who are rebuilding it. 3 hot brothers, 3 lovely ladies, and 1 romantic and funny ghost? What more do you want?  Yes, I know these sound a little cheesy and strange but I seriously couldn't put them down.

Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

I LOVED The Devil Wears Prada and have read it several times. As soon as I finish the book I'm reading now, this one is next.  I've heard mixed reviews on it, have yall read it?

The One and Only by Emily Giffin

Emily Giffin is the genius behind Something Borrowed and Something Blue.  I have heard great things about her new book The One and Only and I feel like this will be the perfect beach/lake read.

Naturally Thin by Bethenny Frankel

This book has been out since 2009 and I've owned it for a couple of years.  I always pick it up, read a little, then forget about it.  I've decided that maybe this needs to be a book I read a little of each day (more like studying) rather than make it my only book I'm reading. It's no secret around here that I have struggled with my weight and body issues, especially since I moved to Michigan last summer and I am so tired of being bogged down by worrying about it.  I'm hoping that this book gives me the kick in the ass I need to get back in gear once and for all.

Do yall have a summer reading list?

  1. I really like Revenge Wears Prada - easy breezy read - probably not as great as the first one, but still good!
