Hello Friday

{via}

3 blog posts in 3 days?  WOW it's almost like I'm a real blogger again huh?!  This week has been crazy and full of moving, organizing and LOTS of visits to Target.  My mom is going to be here this weekend to help me organize the rest of my stuff and hopefully do a little decorating. To tell you the absolute truth I may need to put off decorating any more until I get paid (only a few more days until I start my job).  Well yall know the Friday drill around here.  Linking up with the beautiful Amanda for Friday Favorites.

Favorite Purchase

I bought a couch!  Don't laugh but I am 30 years old and have never owned a couch before.  I always lucked out with roommates that had furniture so I never needed to buy anything.  I originally wanted a sectional but because my living room is on the small side I felt like that would make it feel even smaller.  I love the color of the one I picked out and I am ready to start adding cute pillows to it.

Favorite Recipe from the Week
After moving all day Monday I wanted to make sure I had something semi-healthy on hand to munch on while I unpacked the rest of the week.  I re-visited my Pinterest boards and found a recipe I had forgotten about.  Kaite (aka the cutest pregnant lady ever) posted this recipe over a year ago but it is seriously so good.  I added shrimp to mine to make it more like a meal.

Favorite Decorating Idea
So the 2nd time I stood in my apartment I got this epiphany about exactly what kind of barstools I wanted.  I decided I wanted 3 Ghost Bar Stools and each one would have a different pillow like a gold sparkly one, a leopard print one and a hot pink one (not that I get super specific or anything).  So I go online and found EXACTLY what I had in mind.

I was so excited until I saw the price.....$450 for ONE!  Well that dream quickly went out the window.  Enter my amazing friend Ashley who has an eye for design.  She suggested that I do simple black bar stools and that I could paint the legs gold since I want gold accents throughout my living room.  I hit pinterest and found a few pics for inspiration.

I found some pretty inexpensive ones at The Home Store yesterday and picked up some gold paint so I could DIY all day Thursday (I got to spend Thursday on house arrest because my couch could arrive anytime between 7am-10pm).  This was the result of my DIY time.

I think I only want the tips to be gold unlike the inspiration photos however, I think this gold is too yellow so back to the store I go.

Favorite Song of the Week
Ok I might be late to this game but I have been listing to Ed Sheeran's album non stop this week.  It came up on my Spotify and I'm now obsessed especially with the song I See Fire. Cue Elise lyrical dancing around her apartment. Apparently this song is in the Hobbit movie but I've never seen it so I'm not sure.

Alirighty lovebugs have a FABULOUS weekend!  I am going to go unpack another box!

  10. Oooh your couch is so pretty, and I like the accent pillows :) Those ghost chairs are so modern, but a real bummer at $450 a piece :( You could buy another couch at that price lol
