Hey Friday Favorites

I have to say, the weirdest part of this no job thing is not really knowing what day it is.  Oh it's Friday? Well hey there Friday, I'll probably appreciate you way more when I actually have a job and I can look forward to your existence all week.

On the job subject, lots of interviews happened this week and waiting on lots of phone calls.  I do have an interview next week for a job I REALLY want so please keep fingers, toes, eyeballs and whatever else you can cross, crossed for me!

Ok onto the favorites for Friday.  Linking up with this babe!

Favorite College Bar
So this was not my favorite news to get but the owner of my favorite college bar has passed away.

Edna's was THE place to go if you went to OCU.  Everyone went for their 21st birthday (or before their 21st birthday if they knew someone with connections). They were famous for their Lunchboxes (beer, shot of Amaretto and orange juice) and anytime I'm in OKC we always try to see if we can still stomach one.  Everyone would decorate dollar bills and staple them to the walls of the bar.  Somewhere there's a $1 that is dedicated to my 21st birthday.  The photos below are taken well after I was 21 but you can still see how much we all loved Edna's.

I can't remember if I had mentioned this recipe yet but I made these things last night and they are to die for!

Favorite Dallas Event
I decided to come to Dallas a couple of days before my interview so that I could go to the State Fair of Texas.  For those of you non-Texans, this is the Fair to end all Fairs.  They have the best rides but more importantly, the BEST food!  My friend Shannon and I go every year and we plan our trip around what we want to eat.  This year didn't disappoint.
Hey there Big Tex

Fried Shrimp Boil....my fav!

Fried Thanksgiving Dinner with gravy and cranberry dipping sauce

Funnel Cake Ale

Fried Sweet Texas: A pecan pie and peach cobbler rolled into one and of course served with Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Yup, I feel like I need to run 11 billion miles after eating all of that!

Planning to head back to Odessa this weekend and spend some more time with the friends and family. What's on your agenda this weekend?
