30

Since I say goodbye to my 20's tomorrow, I thought it would be a good idea to go over my 30 Before 30 list.

Let's see how I did.

30 Before 30
1.     Run a 5K (here we go running shoes)
DONE!  You can read about it here

2.     Take a class at a paint/wine place
Fail.  Oh well, it gives me something to look forward to in my 30's

3.     Take a cooking class
Fail.  So far I've only found 1 place in Kalamazoo that offers them and it's expensive! I have played a lot in the kitchen though.

4.     Gain at least 30 blog readers/followers (I'm at 5 so if you're reading this just click the follow button to your right, thanks!)
My readsership (is that a thing?) is growing. I love the blogging friends I've "met" this year!

5.     Pay off my credit card debt
DONE!

6.     Do a 3-5 day juice cleanse (scared of this one but I want to see how my body does)
DONE! You can read about my experience here!

7.     Take a spin class
DONE! And now I love it!  Twice a week baby!

8.     Volunteer for a program that works with special needs children
Fail. I'm very upset with myself for not doing this. Gotta get out there and give back.

9.     Go to a college football game (Can yall believe that I am a Texas girl and I've NEVER been to a college football game?  Tailgate-yes, actual game-no!  Give me a break, I went to school in OKC and we didn't have a football team!)
Ok so this one was kind of a cheat and I didn't know it. I had TOTALLY forgotten that I went to a USC game when I lived in LA. Just to check this one off the list, I did attend a Michigan State football game in September.

10. Visit a vineyard and drink wine
DONE!  Had an absolute blast on our Traverse City Wine Tour!

11. Write a blog entry about Katie and her legacy (every time I try to write this I can't.)
DONE! You can read about my amazing guardian angel here!

12. Buy both parents something nice that they’d never buy for themselves (my parents are THE hardest people to buy for)
I think I accomplished this at Christmas so DONE!

13.  Find a job that I enjoy and gives me fulfillment (c'mon people of Michigan, HIRE me)
Done.....kinda.  My full time job is hard and has challenged me more than any other job I've ever had. Knowing that I'm learning something new and making a slight impact on the business has given me a fulfillment that I didn't know I was looking for.  My side job of teaching dance has been missing since I moved to Kalamazoo but I have found a studio that asks me to come in and do master classes.

14. Be content with my body in a bikini (ugh, I'm working on this)
This is SLOWLY but surely happening. Boot camp twice a week and barre class twice a week!

15. Send out 1 handwritten card once a week for a month
FAIL.

16. Take Michigan to a big country concert (Miranda, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, etc)
Fail but only because we couldn't find one with our schedule.

17. Learn how to make good ol Southern Fried Chicken
Fail.

18. Make a double car payment
Fail.

19. Finish reading The Secret (I love this book but I can't seem to finish it)
Fail.

20. Learn how to make the perfect Bloody Mary (I'm going to weasel this recipe out of Michigan in a few months)
DONE!

21. Learn how to budget my income
This is a work in progress.

22. Visit a brewery
DONE!
23. Go to a pumpkin patch and carve punkins for our house
DONE but without the carving part!

24. Cook 1 new recipe a week for 1 month
DONE!

25. Not spend any money for 5 days (yeah we'll see how this goes)
DONE!

26. Go to at least 3 good, big name concerts
Fail, again not fining any that work with my schedule. But I'm going to see Bruno Mars in June and JUSTIN in December!

27. Read the Great Gatsby
Fail.

28. Eat a raw diet for 3 days (got this from Miss Stephanie but I LOVE this idea)
Done and I want to do it again!

29. Send out Christmas cards (I always think about sending really cute picture cards but run out of time. It WILL happen this year)
DONE!  Thank goodness Mr. Michigan's dad is a graphic designer

30. ?????? (this one is a secret but I will for sure let yall know if when it happens)
This hasn't happened but I am 100% OK with that!

Soooo for those of you counting I got 17 out of 30.  Hey, I guess this just gives me some things to work towards in my 30's!

Have a fabulous weekend yall!
