Happy Birthday to me!

What an amazing weekend!  Thank you to everyone who emailed, text, called, etc to wish me a Thirty, Flirty and Thriving Birthday!

Mr. Michigan originally told me that I had to be ready Saturday (my actual birthday) by 4 o'clock.  I didn't know what the plans were, just that I had to be ready for anything.  He tells me Wednesday that we are going to have dinner Friday night with our friends Jeromi and Ashley.  We usually do dinner and drinks with friends on Friday, but having the plan early in the week was odd because Michigan is NOT a planner that far in advance.

Well thank the Lord I was smart enough to put together a cute outfit that night because little did I know, the little sneak I call a boyfriend threw me a surprise get together!

He had reserved a room in one of the bars we go to every week sometimes and had my appetizers and drinks all set up.  He had some of our sweet friends get there early to decorate and set out my delicious ice cream cake!  Such a great night with people I love!

Saturday I got to be a total bum and sleep in!  We headed downtown in the afternoon for a couple of drinks and then had dinner reservations at Zazios in the Radisson.  The restaurant is beautiful but we weren't crazy about what we ordered for dinner.  However, the calamari is AMAZING!  I definitely want to go back though because they have a special spot called the Chef's Table.  You sit in a special section of the restaurant, the chef cooks right in front of you, and it's a 5 course dinner and wine pairing.  How fun is that?  Michigan said that was his original plan but they were completely booked since Saturday was the university's graduation and one of the high school's prom.  Oh well, gives us another idea for Date Night.

About half way through dinner, Michigan said he had to go to the bathroom and was gone for FOREVER!  I started to get a little worried but he walked back in with a big white box.  I was so surprised to open it and find this:

I have ALWAYS wanted to take a hot air balloon ride!  We are going to wait until more of the trees and flowers bloom but I am so excited for this experience!

I spent the Sunday judging auditions for Western University's Dance Team.  Such amazing talent in this group of ladies and I am so excited to work with them next season!
