The Dress That Got Away

One tradition I've always had my for my birthday is to find an amazing birthday outfit. My 21st bday it was the perfect satin halter top (give me a break, it was 2006), my 28th it was a cute printed jumpsuit that accentuated all the right spots and hid all the not-so-right spots.  This year it was this dress:

This picture doesn't even do it justice. The blue colors are so vibrant and you can definitely dress it up or down depending on what your occasion was.  Sadly, this dress did not make it home with me this weekend because the sales clerk forgot to ring it up with the rest of my stuff. By the time I realized it, we were already back home and the mall we had shopped at was almost an hour away.

Not to worry, I always have a Plan B.

Being that it will be chilly here Saturday (hey, 54 is still chilly to me), and I was told not to get TOO fancy, I am opting for cute jeans and a top.  I picked up this top in both black and white on my shopping excursion:

and am planning on pairing it with super dark jeans and this pretty little bauble

Simple and clean with a pop of color and sparkle. Perfect for turning 30!

Mr. Michigan will only tell me that I need to be ready at 4:00pm Saturday so I have no clue what we're doing.  I'm excited and will have a full update for y'all next week!

Here's a few other gems I picked up on my shopping haul this weekend:

I see these shorts with a tucked-in tank or this flowy top

I also picked up this pretty little scarf.

Did you take advantage of any Easter deals last weekend?
